My friend Jon (Art Director & Filmamaker) posted this to my Facebook wall the other day and I just think it is brilliant. Think makeup technique for photography is complicated now? Well it is, but it was even more complex “back in the day”. Upon breaking this down, some of the choices do not even make sense to me in terms of color theory as I understand it (for example – why are they using more blue underneath the eyes in the B&W test when that tends to be a “blue” area that is corrected with orange or yellow tones?). I would love to find out who the makeup artist for this screen test was.
The longer I am a makeup artist, the more there is to know and to learn. Love it!
(If anyone knows the credits for this photo I’d love to know! π )
